About EHCDI

A vision born from purpose

EmpowerHer & Child Development Initiative was founded by a woman who understood firsthand the power of opportunity. Having witnessed the struggles of women and children in underserved communities across Nigeria, she made a decision, not just to speak about change, but to build it.

Having worked with women, families and underserved communities across Nigeria, she witnessed the challenges many women face in achieving financial independence and accessing opportunities to improve their livelihoods. These experiences inspired her to establish an organisation committed not just to speaking about change, but to creating practical opportunities for women and children to thrive.

With a background in Mass Communication and a Master of Public Health (MPH), alongside professional experience in community development, public health programming, strategic communication and behaviour change initiatives, she brings a strong understanding of the connection between empowerment, health and sustainable community development.

In 2026, she established EHCDI to provide women with practical tools, financial literacy, mentorship and ongoing support to strengthen their businesses, improve their livelihoods and build financial independence.

Today, EHCDI is beginning its work in the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria, with a vision to expand its impact to more communities across the country, supporting women, children and families through sustainable, community-driven initiatives.
